2025-26 BOARD OF DIRECTORS INTAKE

In addition to General Membership to the Society, the Yellowknife Women’s Society has two types of Board Members: Officials & Directors.

Officials are elected to specific positions on the Board. Under our current bylaws, there are three (3) Officials:

Board Chair: This position supports the work of the Board by planning Board of Director meetings and agendas, coordinating Board work, and is the direct and main point of contact with the Executive Director. They usually have some familiarity with not-for-profit organizations and board governance.

Vice-Chair: This position supports the Board Chair and steps in to fill the Chair role in the Chair’s absence. They record meeting minutes, and manage the board's records /files.

Treasurer: This position supports the Board of Directors with extra financial oversight, interpretation, and guidance. They usually have some familiarity with finance and accounting.

In addition to the three (3) Officials, there are three (3) Directors at large.

Director (x 3 positions): This position supports the work of the Board by reviewing Board material, being prepared for all board meetings, contributing to discussions and decisions, and taking on Board work in between meetings.

At the 2025 AGM we're looking to fill the following

roles for a two-year term:

1. Board Chair

2. Treasurer

3. Director Position
